Licensed Ferrari ride-ons and bikes
are designed and produced alongside
Ferrari themselves, meaning the
quality and durability has been well
tested.
All our
Ferrari kids cars have the same
basic features:
-
Steel
Chassis - can easily withstand a
child jumping in and out.
-
Tough
polyethylene bodywork - flexible
and strong, avoids damage to the
ride-on or furniture if there is a
crash.
-
Deep
injected paintwork - allows
scratches to be buffed away
easily.
-
Realistic alloy-like wheels.
-
UK
based service centre and 1 year
guarantee.
-
Authentic logos, badges and
stickers.
-
Top
quality European construction and
design.
Age
Suitability
The 3+ rating on Ferrari kids cars
is based on safety reasons rather
than ability or size. Our Ferrari
ride ons are well designed, so will
allow many 18 month olds to reach
the pedals and steer. They will
probably also amaze you with their
ability after a short time. However
a young child may lack the judgement
to avoid a tree or might start
chewing small parts and for this
reason the manufacturers recommend
various age guidelines. The parent
ultimately controls the environment
the Ferrari riding toy is used in
and understands the child better
than anyone else. The manufacturers
can only offer guidelines and their
recommendation is based on the
average child.

Launched at the 2008 Paris Motor
Show, the aesthetics and
aerodynamics of the Ferrari
California bore into the hearts of
fans worldwide. In a surprising
move, the exotic car company intends
to produce a staggering 5,000
California’s within the first two
years at a brand new factory beside
the existing Maranello one,
increasing production by 50%.
Perhaps more shocking is that the
model is already sold out until
2012.
The
Ferrari California is a grand
touring sports supercar with a hard
top convertible, hats off to
Ferrari. The price range will be
similar to the Ferrari F430. The new
California revives the “California”
name used for the Ferrari 250 GT of
the 1950s. The 1950 California
Spyder was designed to entice the
wealthy and dense California fanbase
who require a droptop to enjoy the
fair weather year-round.
The
latest California model is quite
similar to the 250 GT model, though
by brand standards it is on the
overly luxurious side because it is
intended to attract the customers of
exotic brands such as the Bentley
Continental GTC , Aston Martin DB9
Volante and the Mercedes SL AMG .
Customers who prefer those brands
are in search of an elevated level
of comfort from say the Ferrari
F430, and thus the California is
Ferrari’s solution to acquiesce
these customers.
Let’s
get down to specs. Not everyone
knows that the California is
actually an open-top V8 front-engine
mounted GT, the first ever by the
company. This 4.3-liter boasts 453
prancing horses-catapulting it from
the 0-60 mark in less than 4
seconds.
Major
selling points include the
first-ever retractable hardtop,
direct fuel injection and
twin-clutch gearbox-essentially it
is the most un-Ferrari Ferrari to
date. A pair of diminutive rear
seats are useful for toting golf
clubs in the Ferrari, though
unsuitable for even a child.
Another
claim to fame for the California is
the fact that it is the most
aerodynamic Ferrari to date, having
spent upwards of 1,000 hours in the
wind tunnel. The drag coefficient of
the California model is 0.32 with
the top up.
Ferrari Enzo History

The concept of the extreme sports
car has been demonstrated by
extraordinary models in Ferrari's
history. Some of the most recent
models include the 288 GTO of 1984,
the F40 of 1987 and the F50 of 1995.
The common denominator in each case
was not only the uniqueness of their
performance but also the
exclusiveness that came from being
built in limited numbers.
It is in
this spirit that the Enzo Ferrari
was launched in 2002 as an
outstanding expression of the
concept of extreme sportiness. The
car was developed for road use in
399 units only. The Enzo Ferrari
epitomises the most advanced
concepts of Formula One racing
technology. The Enzo Ferrari has a
unique advantage, because it
benefits from an intense, successful
transfer of technology generated by
the long list of Ferrari victories
in Formula One. Drawing on this
immense technological heritage,
Ferrari set out to develop the Enzo
as an integrated system designed for
extreme performance.
The
Enzo Ferrari is a 12 cylinder
mid-engine berlinetta named after
the company's founder, Enzo Ferrari.
It is currently one of the most
powerful naturally aspirated
production cars.[citation
needed] It was built in
2002 using Formula One technology,
such as a carbon-fibre body,
F1-style electrohydraulic shift
transmission, and Carbon
fibre-reinforced Silicon Carbide (C/SiC)
ceramic composite disc brakes. Also
used are technologies not allowed in
F1 such as active aerodynamics and
traction control. After a downforce
of 775 kg (1,709 lb) is reached at
355.6 km/h (221 mph) the rear wing
is actuated by computer to maintain
that downforce.
The Enzo's V12 engine is the first
of a new generation for Ferrari. It
is based on the architecture of the
V8 found in sister-company
Maserati's Quattroporte, using the
same basic architecture and 104 mm
(4.1 in) bore spacing. This design
will replace the former
architectures seen in V12 and V8
engines used in most other
contemporary Ferraris. The 2005 F430
is the second Ferrari to get a
version of this new powerplant.
In 2004, Sports Car International
named the Enzo Ferrari number three
on their list of Top Sports Cars of
the 2000s.
Motor Trend Classic
named the Enzo as number four in
their list of the ten "Greatest
Ferraris of all time". – Wikipedia
Ferrari 250 GTO History

Ask an automobile enthusiast what
the greatest name in cars is and
most will answer "Ferrari". No other
company can come close to Ferrari's
record when it comes building fast,
exciting and passionate cars.
If Ferrari makes the greatest cars,
what then is the greatest Ferrari?
Most followers of the marque would
answer "GTO". Amongst a history of
cars that defined style, speed and
excitement, the GTO is the ultimate.
The Ferrari GTO is the direct
descendant of the Ferrari 250 GT.
The lineage goes back to October
1954 with the introduction of the
Europa GT. The Europa GT evolved
into the 250 GT SWB (Short Wheel
Base) as seen in the above photo
with with number 33 (s/n 2733)
leading GTO s/n 3909 GT. Enzo
Ferrari claimed the GTO was only
part of the 250 GT SWB series (of
which many were produced) as his
justification for the GTO's
homologation.
It shouldn't take too long to
conclude that the most desired
Ferrari is also the most expensive.
In the early 1990s, when prices for
rare and classic cars were at a
fevered pitch, an example sold for
$15,000,000. Now that sanity(?) has
returned to the market, a GTO was
recently bid to $7,700,000 at an
auction but went unsold. The price
for a new GTO was about $23,000
which may seem ludicrous now but was
a lot in 1962; so much that it
probably was the limiting factor
when it came to production quantity.
The Ferrari GTO is a dual purpose
car. These are cars that are
designed for both the street and
race track. In this great tradition,
an owner could drive the car to the
track, race it, and then drive it
home. It is a fact that
characteristics that make a car
excel on the race track do not make
for a good street car and what makes
a good street car will make a car
uncompetitive on the race track. In
the early 1960s, technology was such
that succeeding in both areas was
possible.

History

Enzo
Ferrari never intended to produce
road cars when he had formed
Scuderia Ferrari (literally "Ferrari
Stable", and usually used to mean
"Team Ferrari", it is correctly
pronounced "skoo deh REE ah")
in 1929 as a sponsor for amateur
drivers headquartered in Modena.
Ferrari prepared and successfully
raced various drivers in Alfa Romeo
cars until 1938, when he was hired
by Alfa Romeo to head their motor
racing department.
In 1941, Alfa Romeo was confiscated
by the Fascist government of Benito
Mussolini as part of the Axis
Powers' war effort. Enzo Ferrari's
division was small enough to be
unaffected by this. Because he was
prohibited by contract from racing
for four years, the Scuderia
briefly became Auto Avio Costruzioni
Ferrari, which ostensibly produced
machine tools and aircraft
accessories. Also known as SEFAC (Scuderia
Enzo Ferrari Auto Corse), Ferrari
did in fact produce one race car,
the Tipo 815, in the non-competition
period. It was the first actual
Ferrari car (it debuted at the 1940
Mille Miglia), but due to World War
II it saw little competition. In
1943 the Ferrari factory moved to
Maranello, where it has remained
ever since. The factory was bombed
by the Allies in 1944 and rebuilt in
1946, after the war ended, and
included a works for road car
production. Until Il Commendatore's
death, this would remain little more
than a source of funding for his
first love, racing.
166MM Barchetta 212/225.
The first Ferrari road car was the
1947 125 S, powered by a 1.5 L V12
engine; Enzo Ferrari reluctantly
built and sold his automobiles to
fund Scuderia Ferrari. While his
beautiful and fast cars quickly
gained a reputation for excellence,
Enzo maintained a famous distaste
for his customers.
In 1988, Enzo Ferrari oversaw the
launch of the Ferrari F40, the last
new Ferrari to be launched before
his death later that year, and
arguably one of the most famous
supercars ever made.
On May 17, 2009 in Maranello, Italy,
a 1957 250 Testa Rossa (TR) was
auctioned, by RM Auctions and
Sotheby's, for $12.1 Million - a
world record for the most expensive
car ever sold at an auction.
